3
silver pyrotechnic gerbs were installed either side
of this entrance. On firing they produce 1 second
of intense silver sparks to a height of over 4 metres.
When this Massey Ferguson drove towards the entrance,
the devices were fired, giving the appearance that
the tractor entered through a wall of silver fire. |
 |
A
high speed photo of the gerbs firing, the tractor
has just begun accelerating and will almost pass through
the sparks. |
 |
The
gerbs are now well underway, perhaps 0.25 seconds
into their duration, they create a white screen of
fire, the tractor will not actually reach the sparks,
but the audience will be lead to believe it has. |
 |
A
high speed photo of the gerbs firing and almost out
(0.9seconds), the tractor is now getting very close
to the doorway and will pass through it in the next
second. Note these pyrotechnic devices produce "warm
sparks", in that they do not have the thermal
impact to cause damage to the tractor. |

Adam
installing pyrotechnics to be fired off the roof of
this Fendt tractor. The task - 2 smaller Fendts climb
the specially made ramps until they reach almost vertical
status. When they finish climbing, silver pyrotechnics
display off the roof. The tractors all drove into
the indoor arena, so we opted for MLE FireByWire
radio firing, and utilised our descrete minature
modules. |
 |
The
radio equipment and pyrotechnics installed, note the
pyrotechnics have been covered with waterproof plastic.
The whole setup was almost invisible from the ground.
If there had been issues with the visibility we could
have used our aerial less firing modules. |

roof of the Fendt. The tractors have just reached
there destination! |
 |
Another
photo, showing the pyrotechnics almost reaching the
roof, again the devices used here do not present any
heat problems. |
Finale
segment |
|
The
final segment of the closing show, gerbs were fired
off a £250,000 combine harvester. |
