MLE are defending their title at the UK's largest ever firework competition

Press release from TESA:

MLE Pyrotechnics, one of the country’s leading display firework companies based in Northamptonshire, will be heading for Plymouth in August in a bid to become the UK’s No.1 firework display company in a Champion of Champions firework competition.

To mark the 10th Anniversary of The British Firework Championships, the organisers have decided to create an exceptional event in 2006 – bringing back the eight previous winners (one won twice) to battle it out for the coveted title.

At the same time, the competitors are being allowed to increase the weight of fireworks they can send up in 2006, making for a bigger and better event than ever. In all 4 tonnes of fireworks will be fired over the two days of the Championships – 15th/16th August 2006 – creating one of the biggest firework displays ever seen in the UK.

One of the leading display firework companies in the UK, MLE Pyrotechnics will face stiff competition at the event because every other competitor is already a champion – and this is one title everyone wants to win!

To judge the competition, an international panel of expert judges will be watching and scoring on everything from the technical content of the displays to the Wow! factor from the 200,000 strong crowd that is expected to pack Plymouth Hoe for the event, Since they were first launched in 1996, The British Firework Championships have become the major UK’s premier competition for display firework companies and an event that everyone in the industry wants to win. The Championships have also grown to become one of the biggest events staged annually by Plymouth City, with many people planning their summer holidays around the dates.

MLE FireByWire 3 wire system due out soon

MLE have been working hard on the development of a totally new concept in the firework industry, a system that will change the way firework companies fire displays. The digital 3 wire system will allow rapid chase sequencing, conventional firing and computerised firing all from the same hardware.

Julian is head of MLE FireByWire based in Brentwood and has this to say...
"because the system contains digital sequencing, digital firing, and automated firing functionallity in the same module, it effectively cuts down on a display companies outlay, before 2 or 3 seperate investments would be required to obtain the same ability."
