Radio Modem

Just completed for a client, the new design of the FireByWire radio modem allows displays to be fired from multiple locations in two operating modes.

1) Laptop synchronisation (with delay calculations being accounted for)
2) Cable replacement mode – literally a radio replacement for an existing cable between sites or modules

Available in 20km and 50km configurations.  Please contact Mat for further information on 01327 876 037 or mat@mlepyrotechnics.co.uk.

Gala Fireworks

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Quite often we’re firing firework displays on Sunday, infact this is the second week running – but we really don’t mind!  A lot of our firing crew love fireworks and would quite happily spend Sunday setting up and firing shows all week long.

Tonight we’re also providing fireworks for a Gala event, an old client who has been using MLE for many years.  More and more student balls, summer concerts, festivals and galas are celebrating with firework displays and pyromusicals.  Prices start at just £600 fully inclusive for a 5 minute display, and just £1000 for a 3 – 4minute pyromusical fireworks spectacular.

The phone lines are very busy with ticket orders for our firework champions events (www.fireworkchampions.co.uk) even today.

A special consignment landed at Felixstowe yesterday, but it’s not fireworks… we’ll be sending a lorry down to collect it this week… more soon!

Bonfire Firework Displays

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

We’ve already got a good amount of displays booked in for the November Bonfire Night season – but we do have availability on most nights around Nov 5th.

Displays usually begin at £1000+ for the Guy Fawkes firework season, but we do start at just £600 on less busy days.

Larger outdoor events such as pyromusicals (fireworks choreographed to music) are usually between £2,000 and £15,000.  We are proud to be working with Funktion One at the larger events.

If you’d like more information about our fireworks displays or would like to discuss booking an MLE team to fire your professional pyrotechnic display, please give our office a ring on 01327 876 037 or email mail@mlepyrotechnics.co.uk

P.S we’ve special offers running for school shows taking less popular dates (e.g. the Tuesday before the 5th).

FireByWire new software

Friday, June 26th, 2009

MLE are testing the latest version of the FireByWire designer and launcher software.  The new version 1.4.0 contains many new features which will change the way firework companies design and fire displays.

  • Ability to reuse previous musical tracks and import them into a new display.
  • Autoallocation of firing cues
  • Visual site designer to aid design and sequences
  • Auto-updates

We’re excited about the launch of the software, if you’re a display company and would like more information please contact our office on 01327 876 037 or visit www.firebywire.co.uk.

Flame Projectors

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

MLE have been working on adding flame projectors to the portfolio of products, effects and services offered for quite some time now and we’re hoping to launch them very soon.

What is a flame projector?
Basically a piece of equipment that emits a large bright flame on demand for varying amounts of time.  The flame could be orange or different colours.

We’ve invested in the research and development of DigiFlame which will run on our FireByWire system.  A bespoke inhouse hardware and software solution is being worked on to ensure the precise control of “digital flame”.

Flame projectors are great for special effects, on stage or outside and can be a great addition to outdoor displays.  If you’d like more information please contact our office on 01327 876 037.

Citronella Bamboo Candles by the 1000's

Citronella Bamboo Candles by the 1000's

Our container of Citronella Candles arrived yesterday in good time for the events we have coming up.  We’re offering these candles directly to the public and also trade, so if you’d like a quote then please drop us a line.  They are perfect for firework display events, and summer firework concerts.  Or you can light them in your own garden when you’re having a BBQ!

Bamboo Candles

Citronella Bamboo Candles are 760mm high and burn for 7 hours.  They contain Citronella oil – which helps keep the bugs away.

www.bamboo-candles.co.uk is the website where we’ll be publishing further information as well as online ordering pages.

Sky Lanterns – where can I buy online?

Khoom Fay

This weekend just gone, an MLE team launched 70 sky lanterns at a wedding in Northamptonshire.  Sky lanterns are becoming very popular at weddings and events and we’re constantly supplying them – either by courier, or we offer a complete service where we’ll set them off for you.  If you are close to an airport then you should contact CAA or the local airport’s traffic control to inform them of your intentions.

See a video here: Sky Lanterns

Prices start from just £2 per lantern delivered if you want to light them yourself.  It is possible to write a personal message on each lantern before launching – something very common in Thailand and China.

We are proud to be importing the very best sky lanterns directly from the leading manufacturer in Asia.  All of our lanterns come sealed individually to ensure they stay fresh prior to use.  There are plenty of poor quality products available so please choose carefully.  We’re happy to discuss over the phone if you have any questions about Sky Lanterns.

Visit our Sky Lantern website:  www.firelantern.co.uk for further information or you can order online with our secure checkout.

Red strobing fireworks

Citronella Bamboo Candles

Citronella Bamboo Candles

MLE have recently taken delivery of some very new and exciting red strobe shells.  Adding an extra dimension to our displays, these shells are quite rare and yet to be seen at shows in the UK.

We’re including them in all of our shows where site conditions allow – just another reason why people are choosing MLE to fire at their event.

Several other new fireworks have been introduced into our forthcoming displays – it’s our moto to try and keep at the forefront of the industry.

Meanwhile we’re busy getting ready for upcoming shows this weekend and engineer, Lee, is busy making more cake racks for the upcoming season.

Next week sees some exciting items landing into the UK, we have 2 deliveries – one a container of citronella bamboo candles, the other… well thats a surprise we’ve been waiting since January for… more soon!

Another container landed last week, with 1 a week now due in June, we’re being getting our stocks in for the busy year ahead.  Our Cat4 material is imported for use by many of the UK’s firework display companies, as well as in our displays.  Some new effects have started to arrive and we’re looking forward to introducing several “Pyrotechnic First’s” this year.

MLE supplied some of the fireworks used by the SFX guys in the current Take That tour – a fantastic concert.

July 4th firework displays are just round the corner, meanwhile preparations are underway for the many wedding firework displays coming up over the next few months.  July and August are always busy for us.
