Today we’re firing a larger scale display at one of the UK’s most prestigious wedding venues. The display is packed full of the best effects possible including “titanium chrysanthemum”, glittering, heart shaped shells, “Butterflies” and Yung Feng shells.
Fired by computer the display will last 10 minutes and create a constant stream of effects from 5 sites.
If you’re considering fireworks for your wedding, please visit www.fireworks4weddings.co.uk for further information or ring our office on 01327 876 037.

Well it’s been a long and productive China visit – lots of new effects and ideas worked on and lots to do back in the UK. The flight home is slightly longer than outgoing but it’s nice to see all the snow has gone here now. Not for long I’m led to believe!
Our team in the UK have been busy preparing displays for January and February and working on the international FireByWire orders. We have one going out to China and one to Korea this month.
February see’s a wealth of activity for our Firework Champions outdoor events – if you’re looking for further information on these then we’re aiming to have the new websites up and running very shortly.
So armed with the very best effects we’re looking forward to producing some fantastic displays for our current and future clients.

Yesterday started with a visit to our shell factory to check out the production of our products – we also looked at some new production methods and effects being manufactured.
After lunch (the food was great) - we had a demo, looking at some new shells, cakes and candles - the 3 main types of fireworks. Nearly all effects being custom made for MLE from ideas and designs previously sent over to the factory.
The standard was consistantly extremely high which is always nice to see – some of the items seen will be added to our range this year and some will be tweaked – all in all a very sucessful day.
Today we’re off to visit a couple more firework factories and later have 2 more firework demos. We’ll also be meeting our Chinese FireByWire digital firing system agents.

Well after the chaos of 600 flights being postponed at Beijing yesterday I finally got to Liuyang in China via another 2 hour flight to Changsha airport.
Liuyang is the firework manufacturing capital of the world. It has literally 1000s of firework factories scattered all around the Hunan countryside.
It is now 945am and we’ve just had a late breakfast before we start a days work looking at the various firework effects and new ideas. We are proud to be associated with the very best factories in China and have great working relationships with our partners here.
Several new ideas are being worked on, some of which are not even of an explosive nature.
Today is much warmer than I have experienced recently. Minus 5 in sunny England to minus 13 in Beijing yesterday. I believe it is around 9 degrees here but I am sure it’s still colder than that.
Update – 1045am and we’re driving to the factory that produce MLEs aerial shells. Later we shall we checking out some new effects and in between grab some lunch. Meals are very important to the Chinese business culture.
More soon…

I am Mat, a director of MLE, and currently waiting in Heathrow airport for a flight to Beijing.
My journey to work on the latest firework effects starts with 20 hours of travelling to the largest producer of fireworks in the world – China.
Over the next few days I will be writing about what we get up to in order to ensure our fireworks and displays are at the very cutting edge and of the highest quality.
Once I get to Beijing I shall be meeting up with our Chinese member of the MLE team – Yaqi, who flew out a few days ago in December.
From there we will fly 2 hours to Changsha, take a 1 hour car journey to Liuyang and go straight into our first demo of fireworks.
This time of year is rather cold in China and demo nights basically consist of firing of hundreds of individual effects over the course of several hours.
More soon!

Tonight we’ve got teams out firing in the snow!… Fireworks look twice as good when they are fired in a snow setting. The colours and patterns reflect off the ground. www.fireworks4weddings.co.uk is where you’ll find out more about our wedding firework displays.
Meanwhile preparations are underway for our work on the new range of professional fireworks we’ll be importing for the coming year. Containers of fireworks begin arriving in the new year to support the 100’s of firework displays produced by our own display teams and cat4 customers.
